Do the names of paint colors influence your decision to buy a certain shade over another?

We are in the process of picking a wall color for our bedroom and I am laughing over some of the paint color names. And the paint companies probably have someone on their payroll that comes up with these names. So do you pay attention to the paint name when making a decision about the shade or go by color alone?Do the names of paint colors influence your decision to buy a certain shade over another?
No for me because when I look at my sample wheels, most of the time the name is on the back of the card so I don't even see it. That being said, it evidently does make a difference to many consumers because paint companies change the names frequently, particularly if it is a slow seller, and they track the success or failure of a name. Plus, they pay those who come up with those names a pretty penney to do it, LOL.Do the names of paint colors influence your decision to buy a certain shade over another?
I think companies waste their time renaming colours every year. There are so many silly names. I never look at the names...the majority of paint colours I work with are colour matched and not standard colours...I get an exact colour that way, and not just something close to what I want.
this completely happens to me! i was looking for a vibrant pink for my bedroom and i had two in mind. one of the colours was named sexy pink and the other was named carasoul, and i picked the one with the funner name! excellent question! xox
I will be decorating my new home soon, i agree some of the colour names are a little short of daft! I just go by the colour on the tin but then if i had to choose between 2 colours then the name might persuade me!
The name of a paint color only influences me while I'm deciding. Afterwards I would never remember the paint color name...
No, I go by the color. For instance, i painted my new home and I couldn't tell you the names of any of the colors we used.
