Are there any paint colors that can be painted on an outdoor porch to repel insects?

Living close to a body of water ';dirt dobbers'; are continually building nest on the porch. Wondering if a paint color might slow the avalanche of nest.Are there any paint colors that can be painted on an outdoor porch to repel insects?
I'm not sure about paint, but I had a couple of apartment complex managers who swore by yellow bulbs for porch lights. There was nothing special about them, just that they were tinted yellow. I can't really say I thought they were effective, BUT being across the street from a creek's flood plain we didn't seem to have the mosquitoes or spiders accumulating around the porch lamps like neighboring houses who used standard white.Are there any paint colors that can be painted on an outdoor porch to repel insects?
