Exterior Paint Colors for New Home?

The home we are buying has a horrible red clay colored brick on the bottom half of the house. The house needs painting so we'd like to use colors which will diminish the appearance of the orangy-pink brick. Any ideas for siding, shutters and trim?Exterior Paint Colors for New Home?
Lite colors will draw the eye away from the brick. I would not suggest painting the brick.Exterior Paint Colors for New Home?
How old is the house. If it's old, then sand blasting the brick will probably lighten it up.

Then use a color that draws your eyes away from the brick, perhaps something in yellow.

If you want to totally hide the brick, have the whole house done in a vynal siding in a color appropriate for the style of the house.
Anything that suits your eyes.
Congratulations on your new home. Color is a BIG deal...drive around town and look at other homes. Find a color that you like and ask the owners what it is (ask for brand of paint also). I had trouble envisioning what my house would look like from a little paint swatch. As for the brick, it depends on whether you're going to remove it, cover it up or paint/treat it. There is a brick cleaner/acid wash available that goes with a pressure washer. Try pressure washing it to see if it tones down to an acceptable color. If the bricks are old and you decide you don't want them...call a local recycle building company. They will oftentimes remove the brick for you if they can have it (it's usually a tax deductible donation also). Have fun with home ownership!!!
Seems like the color of the brick is objectionable to you. Instead of just painting the house, why not try painting the brick also (the same or with a complimentary color)?
