Need help choosing paint colors for small bathrooms and also small kitchen.?

The toilet, tub, and pedestal sink are going to be white. I was thinking about a cool green.

The kitchen runs along side the dining room and is right next to the bathroom.

For the kitchen I was thinking a light beige on the walls to match the cherry floors and white cabinets.

Im not good with colors. Help!Need help choosing paint colors for small bathrooms and also small kitchen.?
Your kitchen will look good with probably any color, but I think beige is a nice safe neutral color.

As for the bathroom, this may seem odd - but - all high gloss white. Let me explain. First off any paint for the bathroom should be made to be applied in damp locations. Any reputable paint stores will have a base paint made for use in bathrooms. The high gloss ensures the paint lasts and that it is easy to wipe down, and resists mold and mildew. As far as the 'white' well, I am not sure about you, but I love to accessorize, and I tend to get a little bored after a while, and like to mix things up a bit. This said, if I paint the bathroom white, I can change up the ';color'; of my bathroom easily just by changing the accessories! So, by changing out the shower curtain, towels, soap dispenser, window covering, and a candle or two - I can go from having a ';green'; bathroom to a ';blue'; bathroom in a day.

Oh, and if you do go this route, it may seem stark at first as your painting it, but wait until all of your stuff is back in place before you stand back and get the completed view.

Good Luck and happy painting!Need help choosing paint colors for small bathrooms and also small kitchen.?
I wouldn't go very green in the bathroom, because that will make your skin tone appear greenish when you use the mirror. It has to do with the way the light is reflected off the wall color and into the mirror. In the bathroom, you have to think about the space being somewhat ';isolated'; -- and it depends on your light sources (whether you have windows in there, or just artificial light, and how much of each one).

It almost sounds like you should switch the colors -- do the beige in the bathroom and the green in the kitchen. (You can still add some nice color to your bathroom using accessories like towels, artwork, etc.) Kitchens can usually take more lively or vivid colors, if that is your style. Make sure the color in the kitchen doesn't clash with the dining room; it should ';flow'; together nicely (usually, unless you have a flair for the dramatic).

You can also try some ';virtual samples'; on any of the major paint brand websites like Behr, etc. Good luck! :)
I think your bathroom choices are great. (I've got a pic on my blog posting today that shows the green-white combo beautifully.) Additional colors that would work great with the white are a light plum or sky blue.

Both are hot colors for 2009, according to the Color Marketing Group, which has been accurately predicting color trends for more than 40 years. Read their full report, along with some pics I've selected to illustrate their trends, including the green/white combo.

You might find some additional color inspirations for your kitchen, too. I'm liking pale blue for that space, too:

i'm starting to get tired of greens. my bathroom is a color called 'gently gray', very light pretty gray with crisp white trim and wood floors. it's very spa like! as far as a kitchen is concerned, i like the beige idea-kind a hot chocolate color, again with crisp white trim!
Try this:
as a designer ,Benjamin moore paints have some really nice colours, also beige's are way easier to accommodate accessories and other colours in your area
Try an eggshell white for the bathroom.Light tan instead of beige.Include some photos of what needs worked on with questions.
