What exterior paint colors do you think would look best on this house?

I couldn't get your link to open to show the yellow but a creamy yellow (or buttery) with white would look nice. Period colors would be earth tones. Darker shades for accents would create depth and character. Do a search for Victorian exterior colors for ideas or you could try Victorian Home magazine.

You could do tan with cream trim and a wood stained door or a muted green with cream trim and a plum door. Or,...cream with latte trim.

Here are some examples.

You could put almost any colour on that house. Light yellow would be fairly classic for that style, and the trim colour or colours could be almost anything you like too, that goes with the yellow. Your link wouldn't open so I can't comment on the yellow in it. Dark green and plum could be very nice with light yellow. With a nice old place like that and all that detail, I'd first decide how complicated I wanted to get with painting detail different colours but I think 2 trim colours would be much better than one. If you can find any historical photos, that might help you choose. Some paint companies have, among the brochures in their stores, combinations of historical colours. You might want to consider what will harmonize with other places in the neighbourhood, unless you want to splash out on something really stunning. I saw a large old place in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, that was a brilliant spring green, other old places there were a very bright red. Very striking.
There are lots of detail to work with there that would really set this house off. I can't tell the exact detail from the picture but it appears that you could use at a minimum of three colors maybe five or more to highlight the architectural elements of this house. There was a book called ';Painted Ladies'; I believe that showed several Victorian type houses and the colors they were painted. You have a wonderful canvas of a house to work with here, take advantage of it. I of course haven't answered the direct question as I think you need to see some examples to see what excites you personally and I am assuming that the owners of the house are willing and able to spend the time/effort/money it will take to do it.

For instance: The Wood-Hughes Home, you can see it on flicker.
Earth tones are very popular. Tan and brown greens Putting the lighter color on the large part of the house and trim with the dark. Yellow and white is you like the old fashon look. or light gray house with a dark gray trim.
Grey or blue?
