How many different paint colors should you have in your home?

We are in the process of building a new home and I would like to paint almost every room a different color. Is it going to be too much color? How many different paint colors should you have in your home?
You should color it as many colors as you want. What ever makes you happy and content and ultimately relaxed and comfortable. Sometimes people go out of their way to be current with the new decor and style and they try to keep up with the current trendy styles in home decor ..... I feel that todays designers(not all, but some)forget comfort and personalization to the customers. Remember.....It's all about what you want and not what the designer wants or what looks good to that arrogant boss you are trying to impress.

Be creative and be good to your eye....After all you have to live there. How many different paint colors should you have in your home?
At least two. Three is safe. Make sure you have the primer first.
You can have as many different colors as you want. It's your house. I would suggest that they flow from room to room.
I would stick with one to two colors on the wall and make your bed sheet, closets, couch, and what ever else in your room really colorful.
As much as you can stand to paint. Remember, you'll need to clean or buy paintbrushes for every colour.
However many as you want if the rooms are divided. Otherwise, keep the colors in the same family.
man, you're gonna live there. YOU gotta LIKE it. I mean, if you won't like it, would you spend your days there?

bottom line is, paint it with as many colors as YOU wnat.
Paint it however you like. There's no rule on creativity.

it all depends as long as the colors cordinate with each other. just dont make it look like a rainbow
having a different color for every room sound awesome. i have another idea though...keep colors in the same family but do something wacky with each room. for example, lets say you chose the basic color scheme of purple (random color, i know.) maybe you could paint all of your hallways pale purple, and paint your bedroom pale with dark purple polkadots on one wall (or two walls, if you want to get real wacky.) and paint the kitchen dark purple and light purple pinstripes. and the dining room could be all medium purple, with a white design on one wall. and the living room could have dark purple on two walls and have two other walls be lime green. (purple and green go together, i don't really know why, bright green compliments medium or dark purple for some reason. if you did two colors like that, then have the walls that are the same color be opposite from each other.) my dad did the two color thing for our living room, only he used dark smoky gray with really light gray. but still...i'm was jsut batting around a few ideas. if you ask me, purple aroundthe house with something wacky in each room is cool, each room would kind of have a personality. you can take my ideas if you want...or do something else....but if you want each room a different color...like completely different, that would be awesome too. :)
i think about three
an infanent amount as long as you love color
as many as u want
