I am buying a new home, and I am obsessed with HGTV. I LOVE modern color schemes - and this house has big open rooms - any suggestions??

What I like doesn't matter it's what you like that count, if you have colours that you like and you could tell me I could be able to help you out , take a look in the rate my space section of HGTV as well the colours for this year are purple and grey , personally I love colours and since you are moving into a new home you have a blank palette to work with , if you have curtains pick a colour from them for the walls and carry some into the whole house .

In our home, we choose one common neutral to go thorughout the house. A shade of beige, accompanied by white doors and trim. Then, in each room we painted a few walls a color that reflects our personalities.





In the living room we painted three walls a lovely deep red, keeping one wall in the neutral beige. It's so warm and inviting!





In our dining room we did two walls a deep burnt orange, while keeping two walls the beige color.





Just be sure to keep something the same in each room. Even if you choose to have no neutral colors thorought, it would be a good idea to keep all baseboards and doors in the house the same color. It helps pull the entire house together.
